Did anyone go to the grand opening? I was there for about 5 hours in the poker room.... I like the place, it seems pretty classy. It doesn't look like they cheaped out on anything, apparently even all the rooms have plasma t.v's

The only bad thing was the all the free champagne and the headache I'm now dealing with :(

At the time they had some 4/8 tables, a 10/20 table, a couple 1/2NL tables, and a wait list for a 2/5NL and 20/40 table.

All were hold'em I think.

They were serving champagne from opening <4> till about 8 or 9ish... Ans the last post is right about the tables, I'm not sure if they got a 10-20 going or not tho but they did have it posted. I think No-limit is where the money is and you can actually play with some strategy....

Really nice place, just had lunch there at the Mohave Grill (not bad) and I'm heading to the Invitation grand opening this evening, should be a good time.

I found it sadly disappointing. Why cant they build a nice casino in Calgary. I don'y expect Vegas or anything but what a joke the place is IMO. They could have added some more pleasing enviromental features such as water features and seating areas etc. My personal favorite after walking around and looking was asking the security dude where the non smoking room was and he proceeded to raise his arm to the rough and stated how they have a state of the art ventilation system and that smoke wont bother you unless you are sitting right next to a smoker and therefore there was no need for a non smoking room. Yeah it is a really good system for sure the place was 3 days old and reeked of smoke already.

not worth the drive for sure :thumbsdow

Elbow has a non smoking room. there are only 4 blackjack tables in there though, and some slot machines.
