Just wondering if anyone on here works for any of the bigger compression shops?
I'm thinking of changing employers and was just wondering if any of these shops are hiring?
Any feedback from anyone is welcome aswell.

All of those guys are SUPER busy. My family owns a company that supplies stainless steel pipe, fittings, tube, compression fittings, valves, etc to companies such as those and we are swamped. Eneflex is actually farming out work to other shops in the city right now.

I'm using Toromont a lot, but their so busy that the work quality has been sketchy lately. Different guys on the job everyday = so many mistakes.

I'm sure they're looking for all the qualified people they can find.

I just left Toromont/Energy Industries after two years as a Project Engineer. If you are looking for a job in the shop, take your resume into the 3615 34th ST NE shop. That was the office I was in and that shop is non-union. Brian McGhee or ....... Tataryn are the guys to talk to there.

You could also take a resume into the 5796 40th Street SE facility and talk to Gerry Steele.

Both shops are at capacity and are most likely looking for good skilled labour.

My friend is taking his fourth year instrumentation do these companies hire in that area?

Yes, instrumentation is a huge part of the manufacturing of gas compressors. There are lots of controls, tubing, control panel etc.

For Instrumentation, go to the same places and put in a resume.

I worked with a guy who just started up at your old shop I believe.I haven't heard how he's liking it so far tho,and as you mentioned Torromont is a bit weird, with one shop being union and the other not.I deffinetly would prefer to stay out of a union shop, just not my thing.

Yeah, instrumentation is a big part of compression.

My biggest concern with everybody being busy is be walking into a gong show.Thats what is was like for my brief stay at Crown Energy.Another is layoffs although it doesn't look like it's going to slow down any time soon.
I'm looking for input from someone that currently working at one of these places to get a feel and what to expect.

I've worked with many people who have been at Enerflex and get a lot of mixed opinions. If I tried there I'd like to see about getting on with Pamco doing service work on the engines, screws, recips, etc.
