I have been searching up on this but can't seem to find any info on this.

I'm looking on getting a 5.25' or 6.5' component set and plan on installing it into a 96-98 Civic HB. I realize i will probably have to cut out the brackets to install the speakers and will have to cut new holes for the tweeters but I was just wondering after I do this...will I still be able to open my windows all the way down because I've seen the 6.5' components and their depth going into the panel is deep.

Would it be better to get a 5.25' or 6.5' component set considering that stock size for front speakers for 96-98 Civics are 6.5'.

The speakers are far from the window :)

5.25" will generally mount shallower.

If your worried about depth , get a good shallow mount speaker with a neodymium (spelling?) magnet. There are a bunch of decent ones, and there are some really good ones. I am personally running a set of DLS UR6 seperates and they sound great. Rediculously shallow mounting depth.

MTX, Boston, Diamond Audio, and Hertz all have shallow mount speakers worth a look.
