Can someone tell me if there is USA & Canadian 2W900FM units or are they the same ? I know the 2W8000FM's are 433Mhz with a stronger signal (because of Canadian FCC Reg's) !! and what unit will have a better range ?

Some info say's the 2W900FM have 3000 ft & some say 5000-6000 ft ?
Also some say the 433 Canadian (2W8000FM) is the Best ??

Thanks for any & all info

One of my reps explained it to me this way. The 8000 is the US version, and the 900 is the Canadian. He says they tested the two side by side, and found them to be very equal in range.

I have not verified this info, I am just telling what I have heard.

I thought the 8000 is the Cdn version and the 900 is the US version? :dunno:

I sell the 8000 and I am in Canada.

Range is suppose to compare to the 900 in US.
Canadian FCC rules or something like that

Info I have so far is the older Compustar versions ( both Canadian & USA ) were 433 Mhz unit's. The Canadian ones (2W8000FM) have a stronger signal strength (Canadian FCC Reg's). Now that the newest versions are operating @900Mhz, I am trying to find out if the the 2W8000FM is still the best as far as range goes ?
Both the 2W900FM & 2W8000FM are available here in Edmonton but I can't seem to find anyone who knows for certain what the range comparison is !!!
Addvertised range on both is between 3000-6000ft ?

Both systems are available in Canada. The Compustar sells as the 8000 series and the Arctic Start as the 900. I powered up each system on the bench in my shop and went for a little walk...... The Compustar 8000 tested almost 1 full block beyond the Arctic Start 900Mhz. It could be just the units that I tested, but based on what I see.... the 8000 system goes a little farther.

The Compustar 8000 still runs at 433Mhz vs 900Mhz, but has a stronger signal (FCC Reg's)
