CALGARY POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE
District 2 police are notifying all Calgarians that since the
beginning of October, there has been an increase in car
prowlings in the northwest and southwest quadrants of the
city. Specifically, thieves are targeting secured apartment
and condominium parkades, and prowling multiple vehicles once
inside the building.
Police in District 2 ask all Calgarians living in apartments
and condominiums to be vigilant when entering their parkade,
and ensure that the garage door is closed and secured before
parking. Once parked, remove any items of value in your
vehicle and do not leave anything in plain view. Items such
as loose change trays are enough to encourage a vehicle break
-in. Finally, never 'buzz' an unknown person into your
building and take notice of any strangers or suspicious
activity.
To report any suspicious activity around your residence, call
the Calgary Police Service at 266-1234, or, if you see a
crime in progress, call 9-1-1.
Anyone with information regarding recent car prowlings in
District 2 area is asked to call the Calgary Police Service
at 266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
