Hi, I'm not too familiar with the Celica GTS and I was wondering if they only came in manual, or they have automatic versions?

I've already tried searching, couldn't find anything.. =/ :goflames:

The GT-S model came standard with a six-speed manual transmission or optional four-speed automatic with sport-shift.

yeah but you wouldn;t want one. the one i used to drive alot had 4 to begin but then was returned to a dealer for the 6. much more invigorating. then came along the supra... hhaah

The GT-S has a six speed manual and four speed automatic with sport shift (buttons on the steering wheel). Unfortunately the automatic is extremely slow due to the lack of torque, it's actually as slow or slower than the gt auto. The gt manual is definitely faster, and the six speed GTS is waaayyyyy faster. For what you're buying, if you want an automatic go with the gt, it will be cheaper and at least as much fun to drive as the gts. But if you're going to get a manual don't bother with the gt, go with a gts all the way.

they are nice cars. the 6 speed is by FAR perferable, but i find the car (especially the gts) has a severe lack of torque that makes daily driving kind of a chore.

Well, Is there any difference between the GTS and GT auto? In a few more years, my girlfriend's parents are going to buy her a celica and she really wants the GTS for some reason... Both auto and manual GTS comes with 175hp doesn't it? GT only comes with 140?

180 at the crank. But the auto trans kills that like down to 130 or so and the torquegoes under 100 from what ive heard

The GT-S auto is boring... definitely go for the 6-speed manual. its a much more exhilerating drive
