Just for a reference this is an Alberta based forum. But best thing to do would be open up the yellow pages and start calling. Some insurance companies will offer discounts based on grades, employers, and if your family has insurance with them. Good luck.

Im with shane on this one. $121 for me since i was 16. Might be getting cheaper for me now that I have more drivning courses.

The good thing, State Farm is in the states too ;) we are both on it.

I've tried to find other insurance companies for cheaper and teh closest I've gotten is $138 a month.

depends what type of insurance you want..

you have to say whether or not your planning to get full coverage..only personal liability...comprehensive...collision...???

U can have your own I believe but your insurance won't be as cheap for the fact that soem of the brokers aren't taking anyone under 18 unless they are under their parents.

Both me and shane have our own policies but they are listed under the same last names of our parents, for the fact mine have 2 houses, boat, 3 other cars, life and a bunch of other insurance. I get accepted for car insurance :D

l0l yea thats y one of your first investments needs to be a radar detector ive hered about going to radio shack and getting a digital scanner where you enter the frequencies u want to listen in on and then you figure out a way to find out what frequencies the cops use in your area then put them into the scanner and listen but idk how to get the frequencies, any one know?

^that kind of thinking is just going to either get you killed and/or cause your insurance to go up anyways.
Why the hell would you need to listen to the cops?????
If you are so concerned about your insurance costs then speeding will be the last thing on your mind...but from the sound of your post you are actually PLANNING out ways to get around the consequences of speeding...not good. :thumbsdow

FiveFreshFish

Means you are a secondary driver under your parents' insurance policy. As a secondary driver, you'd only be allowed to drive maybe 10% of the time. At least, that's what the insurance company expects.

It means you have more drivers than cars in your house so your rates will go WAY down.

I'm payin 320/month! and I'm no teenager, fuckin retarded, one small accident in 2001, no tickets.. A girl I know just got quoted over 7k a yr, but she got caught without insurance, then the second time no lisence or insurance..

I got a quote in NS for fun to see, pay 3800/yr here and it would only be 2400/yr back east.... ah well, gotta have it...

I wonder.... I have an address out by Red Deer *Sylvan Lake* aparantly I can get cheaper rates if I say my address is from there, being a farmer area or whatever.

Yeah, only makes sense if you have to watch out for 3 cars an hour compared to 10,000, that your less likely to have a run in....
