Seems like I'm the one to do this every year haha so may as well keep with tradition.

Hows your final schedule looking this year??? What classes are you taking and when are your exams? Are you screwed or have you got a really spread out schedule?

I'm kind of screwed. In the past I've had like maybe 2...maximum 3 finals in a week. This is the first time that I am going to have 4 of them in a week. I'm so used to having study time in between them. Hope I handle it fine.

Monday Dec. 12th: Philosophy 231 - "Ethical Problems"
Tuesday Dec. 13th: Archaeology 112 - Easy...
Wednesday/Thursday: Nothing...study like mad crazy.
Friday Dec. 16th: Cardiovascular Physiology - all M/C but concepts are really hard.
Saturday Dec. 17th: Excitable Cells Physiology - all M/C again

Excitable cells will probably be hardest. The teacher is East Indian...which SHOULD be a good thing considering I am the same...but even I can't understand some of the english in his questions. Having 2 right choices is something he likes to accidentally screw up on and when you argue with him about it he will get super pissed and yell at you even though you are showing him that both answers are right straight from info. given in his class notes.

So I'll be done at around 5pm on December 17th....and I'm not wasting an extra second here...gather my shit and come home to Calgary that night :D. Should be a good holiday considering that last year my schedule couldn't allow me to come home until the 24th.

Good luck to everyone!! Study hard yo!!

December 9 - 14: Government and Politics of China - Take home final (2 essay questions..about 8 pages in total)

December 16 - Governments and Politics of Africa (shitty because the final is 50% and it's only 25MC!..and consists of everything from September till end of lectures.)

December 21 - Canadian Humour and Culture (written, shouldn't be too bad)

So my schdule sucks because my unimportant class is on one of the last days of finals :(

Dec 12 - Econ 365 (Regional Economics)
Dec 19 - Econ 431 (Labour Market Economics)
Dec 20 - Econ 349 (Economics of Social Problems)

Not worried as much for the Econ 431 final as the prof always gives us a set of questions from which he will choose the final questions from. Econ 365 is a concern only because I come back from Vegas on Dec 10 and I KNOW I'm going to be exhausted afterwards and will have to force myself to study. Econ 349 should be pretty easy too.

December 5th: Chemistry 161 - Organic Lab Final

December 6th: Philosophy 386 - Healthcare Ethics - Take Home Final Paper

December 7th-15th: STUDY! STUDY! Guess what? More STUDYING!

December 16th: Biology 208 - Ecology

December 17th-18th: STUDY!

December 19th: Pharmacology 201 - Introductory Pharmacology

December 20th: Chemistry 161 - Organic Chemistry

At 5:00 pm that night I'm getting plastered then heading back to Calgary the next morning!

Gotta love this time of year!

Next semester I'll be grabbing them ankels hard! *cringe*

I'm in Regional Econ as well... the midterm was a joke. Little concerned about the final. I was going through my notes yesterday and it isn't quite as straightforward as the first stuff.

sidenote: Have anyone ever taken a class with Emery? I'm registered in Schlenker's 325 next semester but may switch to Econ 339 with him.

December 8th - 12th Geog 565 (take home 8 page essay)
December 12th - Econ 365 (Regional Economic)

Are you an Econ major? I was looking over my notes as well and I think the final will be along the same lines as the midterm but there is alot more models to know for the final that's for sure. Only thing with Tracey is he's notorious for having an easy midterm, easy assignment, and then a brutal final. I think this one should be not too hard nor too easy but about average. Won't be as easy as the midterm though.

I took Econ 339 with Emery last year. Good prof and tries to make material interesting but it's pretty dry material. Should be able to get at last a B if you get his blackboard notes and go to class.

I am pretty screwed in terms of the material I need to know for my three modules

Dec. 8th---Legal Methods and Systems Exam worth 30%

Dec. 12th---Law and Society Exam worth 75%

Dec 15th---English Criminal Law Exam worth 50%

Party on 15th with my Law school teachers, and take a train down to London on the 16th. Stay their for about three days or so, then down to Birmingham from where I catch my flight to India(visiting after I dont even know how long). Not coming back to Canada this winter, seems like summer vacations are gonna be the time I get back there.

I hope I get done with the exams really fast and hopefully actually do good/decent in them as well!!

Amen

Ick. But stat quo for 2nd year engg. They give you the four hard ones in six days. Engg 319 will be a breeze compared to all those. That schedule looks somewhat spread out so it could have been worse though.

Dec. 8 CNTR347- Programmable Logic Controllers (practical) OWNED IT
Dec. 9 ELEC349- Machine Applications OWNED IT
Dec. 12 DSGN346- Commercial Electrical Design GOT OWNED
Dec. 13 CNTR347B- Programmable Logic Controllers (written) OWNED IT
Dec. 14 ELEC352- Rotating Machines OWNED IT
Dec. 14 ELTR349A- Electronics- Semi-conductor applications GOT OWNED
Dec. 15 ELEC353- Tramsformer applications GOT OWNED

i really think, for our sake, SAIT should really spread out these exams alot more then they are to give up reasonable time to cram and review. 7 exams in 6 days and 2 of them on a wednesday!? gimme a break.

i learned if you try and catch 2 rabbits you'll lose them both...so i only studied for machines and bit the bullet on electronics...man i hate school

man, us engineers have it freakin bad the work load is double that of any other faculty, my buddy dropped out of second year eng and went to take some crasy science course and he said compared to engineering its a breeze. Im a second year electrical engineering student and i must say engineering== serious pwnage unless ur are some child prodigy. I have 6 courses this semester and 5 next all core subjects of intense math and circuit calculus. I had tests this monday tuesday and wednesday consecutively, one today(saturday) and one this tuesday and 1 wednesday, all i can say to my fellow engineers is load up on the KY jelly...so it goes in a little easier hahahahhaha.

^:werd:
December 12 - PHYS 369 - molested me
December 13- ENGG 349 - raped me hard
December 15 -ENGG 325 - bent me over a shitty little ENE desk for 3 hrs
December 17 - AMAT 307 - shit on my chest
December 21- ENGG 319

The worst part is that I was decentely prepared for them and I felt that after ENGG 349 that they would only get easier. Now I had better do well on ENGG 319 because the inflammed, bleeding orifice I call an asshole can't take another raping (plus stats is easy compared to probability).

but in my case....

December 12 - PHYS 369 - coulda been alot worse, but still bad
December 13- ENGG 349 - destroyed me hardcore, raped me hard... hell that esnt even begin to describe how bad it went. Atleast I only needed like 5% on the final to pass the course.
December 15 -ENGG 325 - Hell, it went ok... didnt rape me as bad as I thought it would. LONG AS HELL tho.
December 17 - AMAT 307 - OMG I think I fucked this one up good. You need to pass the final to pass the course and I really dont know if i was able to pull it off... 2nd hardest by far.
December 21- ENGG 319

Anyone know when our marks have to be in? I'm still waiting for all my business marks. I've gotten an A- and a B+ so far....not bad for a guy who attends classes 50% of the time and doesn't buy the textbooks haha. We'll wait and see what the other marks are like before I brag though :nut:

I have 2 exams with 30 mins between one day apart. This year is rougher than a night in jail.

Dec. 9
ECON311L01 (3:30-5:30PM)
ECON325L01 (7-9PM)

Dec. 11
ECON323L01 (7-9PM)

Dec. 16
ECON301L02 (3:30-5:30PM )

Not bad for me. Yours however sounds rough. First year, I had three within 24 hours (Thursday 9-11AM, Thursday 12-3PM, Friday 8-10AM)

I didn't get it deferred because the Dean will be writing it and I'm not ballsy enough to go into the unknown.

Good luck peeps!

OPMA 317

Dec 15
MKTG 317 (8-11)
ACCT 361 (19-22)

Dec 17
BSEN 395 (12-15)
ACCT 341 (19-22)

Maaaaaaan. The one thing I look forward to is that they are at the end of the exam period, giving me some time to study. ACCT 341 (19-22) Talk about last exam day, last exam hour.

weird, we must be in the same classes. Although GLGY is easy, I still want to study for it. I am also in BSEN 395 with Geography the same day, but I just dropped Geog, because there is no way I can pass both finals, and BSEN 395 is obviously more important, it just blows to have a W on the transcript. I feel like a hardcore quitter, but I just know 2 finals at the end of it all won't turn out well.

al-ti2d
10-28-2008, 11:46 PM
well look at it this way.. its better to have a W than a D or an F on your transcript. and it was just an option anyway.. plenty of time to retake that course again.

We finish class on the Friday and I have two pretty tough exams on Monday, one at 8:00AM - 11:00PM and the next one at 7:00PM - 10:00PM and this is ENGG too, so everyone has the same schedule, it wouldn't be hard to space everything out.

I mean really, WTF? If you ask me, they should have a minimum of five days between the last day of classes and the beginning of exams.
