Hi guys.

Just a quick question.

I want to hook my MP3 player up to my System without spending a lot of money basically.

Are wireless FM transmitters any good for this?

Thanks

No, they all sound like shit. Too much fuzz in the reception to actually get any good quality.

Okay thank you.

Is there any other way to get my MP3 player hooked to my system through my Kenwood KDC-3090r ?
Thanks

that'll only work if your deck has a line in.

yup. you'll need to find the adapter that fits your mp3 player, take out the deck, plug in the cables, put the deck back in, and now you'll have the other end of the cable to plug in your mp3 player.

what kind of deck do you have?

He has a Kenwood KDC-3090R.

There are kits available, but most are expensive. You'd be better off selling your deck, and buying an MP3 deck if yours isnt already one. Another choice would be to buy a deck with an auxillery input, and sells yours. Both alternatives are cheaper than buying the necessary hardware to make a deck MP3 compatible (if it already isn't).

the only benefits of newer decks is that the input is at the front of the deck versus the back.

^unless his deck doesnt have a line in at all. then he'll need a new one

Okay, I dont think the 3090r is made anymore.. Because I can't find an online manual for it ANYWHERE. I'm also assuming because of the age, and its not a high end deck or anything that it won't have a line in.

Can any of you suggest a nice little first time deck that would do what I am after? Without spending a fortune?

Thanks so much.

Hi guys.

I have have found a deck - here it is
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5836031326&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

Item number 5836031326 if the link doesn't work.

I have a sony vaio VGF-AP1L (sony version of an iPod) will this work if I plug it in via USB as though I was plugging it into a computer?

Many thanks
Dan

Alot of the new JVC decks have an imput right on the front. Or like the others have said get one with a aux in on the back and then get an adapter cable which will go from a red&white RCA, which plugs into the back of your deck and then the other end will be a standard headphone jack. Good luck.

That deck has some neat features, but I wouldn't buy a no-name head unit.

Some good bets are Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood, Clarion, JVC, etc. Names you are familiar with. IF you ever need support, who is going to help you with a Kingstech deck? Also, the good brands last a long time and have a ton of extra features you may want in the future.

Okay, Good point.

How can I find out if my Kenwood KDC-3090r has an aux in on the back to attach that adapter cable to?

(without taking everytihng apart, my dad wouldnt be too keen)

i doubt it does, it may have cd changer controls that u might be able to tap into if u can figure out which pins are inputs...

other than that ur best bet is to get a new deck (even taht ebay one would do) and use an aux input...that usb thing would be handy too, but ur always gona have a lil usb cable hanigng out of the front of the deck, if the aux in goes into the back of hte deck theres plenty of ways to make it look cleaner
