I just picked up a Vic Velocity Pro 55 Composite 1 peice stick. I am now hearing that these dont do well when its cold out ( - 10 or so ) I hear they shatter ? This is my first time with a composite 1 peice stick so I dont have a clue. Can anyone confirm or share some exp. I will bring it back if thats the case as its a $120 stick.

Use a wooden hockey stick for outdoors. Keep the composite for arena ice.

:werd:

if you're worried about breaking the stick outdoors when its to cold then i assume you've got enough power behind you shot to do so, if thats the case save the nice stick for the arena, otherwise why spend more than $20 for an outdoor stick:dunno:

I had a pretty decent stick last year, not quite as nice as yours but still a one piece.
anyways, last year the first time i played outside it was about -20, get all pumped up to play outside again after so many months, first shot i take, BAM snaps and i fall on my ass.
after that i just use $20-30 wood sticks outdoors if its below -10ish.
