New Rules for new Drivers

ahaha i just recieved the new license rules, i know this doesnt mean anything to most of the people on this board, but jes wanted to let everyone know :D

k well the learners is the same deal as usual, got to be 14, take test blah blah blah.... for your drivers, got to be 16, pass road test the basics. Here are the add ons in all this, you have to spend a minimum of 2 years as a probationary driver...fewer demerit pointes (8) are allowed than for fully licensed drivers (15) No upgrading to commercial license.
Now to become a fully licensed driver (class 5) you must: have been suspension free for the last year of the 2-year probationary stage, AND pass an advanced road test, aha sooo its not soo bad after all, sall good, i'd thought itd be worse than that.

I thought new drivers also have a curfew, like they can't drive after 11pm or something.

it takes effect on may 20th i believe. I am so happy that this doesn't effect me because I have only haad ny drivers for a year plus where I work doesn't let me off untill 12:00 at night.

I've heard the curfew won't apply if you're a probationary driver going to or from work from 12am to 5am.

The only thing new is the advanced road test. They had probationary driving period (2 years + 8 demerits max) when I got my license. And that's like 12 years ago lol!

o really? hmm funky, meh thats what it says on the piece of paper thing i got ahaha.....BTW it takes affect may 20, 2003

they should've made for people who dont have their learners yet, jeeez gayness

uuuh someone translate this for me.

If you have a learners license (class 7) prior to may 20, 2003, you will not be subject to the new one-year minimum learning period. If you continue to have this class of license after may 20, 2003 the following GDL conditions apply to you:

(i get that part, but this...)

-Be accompanied by a fully licensed (non-GDL-probationary) driver who is 18 years of age or older sitting in the front passenger seat. You will be fined $200 and two demerit points if you violate this condition.

soooo does this mean when im 16 do i have to drive with a 18yr old? please tell me good news that i can drive by myself =(

If you are 16, and are still holding a class 7 (learners) license, then YES you will have to drive with an 18yr old class 5 license holder as the front passenger.
