Does anyone have any tricks for getting a cab at this time of year?

All the listed cab companies have busy signals on the phone lines for hours on end!

Is there an online booking somewhere?

Does anyone know any 'VIP' cab numbers you can call?

It might be a good thread for beyonders to help each other out, i bet i'm not the only one with this problem.

Cheers!

#taxi on your cell phone, never a busy signal (but it costs about 50 cents)

I have been sitting on hold listening to the BEEP BEEPs on the #TAXI line for about 5 mins now!

still nothing.

"It appears to be a high demand time for taxis in your area....."

There s to be a better way!

Anyone have any other ideas?

That #TAXI doesn't work!

(at least not dung busy times)

I just sat on hold for over ten minutes.

Bad time of year to have car troubles and need a cab thats for sure.

Hey cidley, if you need a ride and you're on beyond, why not ask one of us beyonders for a ride?

:)

Hell, I should just start my own lil taxi service :D

taxis and public transportation in this city have alot to learn... thats just my opinion... but look at vancouver or toronto, much better infrastructure there in regards to getting home on your own, without driving.

That would seem like a lil much to ask Raz, but a nice thought.

I found an online bookin at checkercabgroup.com, but they can only garrantee they'll be there within 1.5 hours of the time you request!

not very helpfull when trying to get to work ontime.

seems like if you don't know a cabbie, you're #@%^$# ed, eh?

anyone know a cabbie and want to share

Show some skin!!

Okay, maybe not. Not sure, I don't hollar a taxi that often, but when I do, it's generally fine by calling in. Never ridden a taxi during winter though.

With the Christmas Party season in full swing you need to call in advance for a cab.

I called Checker at noon to get a cab to go to my Christmas party at 7pm and at noon they said they are getting heavy bookings and could be up to 30 min late.

I heard on the radio this morning you can reserve a taxi for $40 or something... and that's on top of the regular cab fare!

^^^ Yah but I wouldnt be suprised if those were the first to be booked up.. I can see this long ass wait being a problem for drinking and driving accidents. I cant see a bunch of drunk people freezing there asses off for hours when they can "Drive normally".

Maybe we should post Taxi numbers. I cant even remember one lol.

Or even the numbers to the driving services that also get your vehicle home with you.

I had the absolute worst customer service from an Associated dispatcher. I don't ever plan on going back to them.

Associated by far is the best company IMO....but they do have some snooty ones on there....
