anyone know about how much it cost to do a engine swap on a 240?

Depends on the motor you are putting in. For a straightforward swap, it should cost around $700 for labour + engine and other parts (fuel pump, water pump, belts, hoses, fluids, motor mounts, etc...)

any idea on how much a sr20/tranny swap would be( i know how much i should spend on motor) just need a idea on what to look for for installation.

Talk to Autodream they will give you a price. Engine with install you are likley looking at around 5000 i think, with some after market upgrades.

Got a garage? Rent a lift and do it yourself and learn something. Just a thought? Straight common swaps aren't that hard if you're familiar with your car.
