Its election time again, and that means easy money for people with spare time.

Basically theres a couple of things that you can do, and you get paid by a gov't of canada cheque in the mail so no deductions!

Poll Clerk - On the day of the election you sit at one of the poling stations and hand out ballots, cross people off your list, and then count ballots and the end of the night. Its about 10-12 hours i guess based on who you work with and what time polls close.
Wage: $235 I THINK*** Last time i got that, but theres word that its 200 or 250 this election Easy money for one of sitting around.

Retriving Agent - This is a new one, and ima check it out this time
What bascailly i found out is you go to the office in your area, and answer calls. People call in and register to be on the voting list, tell you if they changed addresses or what not, and you just collect information. Its an evening and weekend job, so those lookin to make some cash this is easy aswell. They pay by the

These spots fill up quick, so those you want to get invovled, do it quick. It looks great on your resume and you can even get a reference letter out of it.

Check out www.electionscanada.ca and call the 1-800 # And they'll tell you where the nearest office is in your area and more details

Hmm... looks like a good way to make an easy buck, plus there is probably a bunch you could learn about the whole voting process.

I'll apply and see if I can make it work for myself. Thanks for the heads up slick2404

Hey no problem, sounds good lots of people gettin jobs.
I dont think its too late, thier still calling people for training times just give em a shout n let them know you want to be a poll clerk or something.

Update on wages, Poll Clerk gets 150ish + 35 for training
DRO Gets 180 ish+ 35 for training. Not as good as last time, but thats because last time was the provincial and federal. still good!

I did it a few years back, was brutal for a smoker. You can't leave the building for any circumstances, so be aware of that. Otherwise it was good money.

I got hired as a poll clerk in Edmonton. Around $11/hr so the pay is far from generous, but had that been the reason I applied, I wouldn't be doing this... Should be pretty cool, and look good on a resume.

I am taking the day off work at Telus and university, where I would be making much more..... heh. :D
