While I was impressed with my 06 Civic LX, the 4 speaker mp3 player was dissappointing. The sound has little to no bass. I didn't expect a boom box but it should have had some descent bass in it rather than a bright sound. So, to improve it should I:
1. Upgrade/change my speakers (which I belive would be the cheapest solution)
2. Change my mp3 player
3. Put in a woofer/amplifier
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
As per the dealer the player is 'Alpine'.

If its bass you want, you'll need an amp and woofer

Sub and amp
Might as well throw some new speakers as well to round it out

Number 3 will give you the most noticeable difference.

changing your speakers probably wouldnt be the cheapest solution.. first of all a good pair (or 4 speakers) will run you a decent coin + if you get really good ones they might need for you to buy a seperate amp to power them

if you want base.. buy an amp and a 10" sub.. you wont have CRAZY deep base but it will give you a really nice sound.. plus i find a 10" sub does a bit better job at making the range more even (low-mid).. just adjust your deck afterwards so that your speakers only take care of the treble.. should have a decent sound coming out

good luck  grats on the new car

So, sub and amp it is.
Thx for the help guys.
Any suggestion on the make of amp/sub which I can install on my own?

Youll need the high level inputs to run it off the stock deck...so youll still have to get the deck out. For a beginer setup an Alpine Type S and MRD-300 amp would be alright.
