mmmmm 4g63 power

98Max

2 things...isnt that bad? and isnt a 4g63 a eclipse engine? i dont know much about Evo's so spare me if they use the same engine

98Max. Yes, that is bad. If his exhaust gases are that hot, to make the manifold glow that brightly, then their melting valves as well.

and Yes, the Evo's and the Eclipses have the same engine. The block and everything is all the same, how ever the Evo engine is a LOT better tuned, and slaps on the rear driveshaft and teh differentials and all that shiat. Its also a lot more advanced, then the Eclipse engine...

Crazy...

wtf are you talking about????? i dont think you know the difference.

it glows because its a tubular manifold it has thiner runners. a turbo engine creates alot of back pressure

talk about a natural neon... i can see APC making it now "Glowing Manifold"

wtf are YOU talking about ??? a dull glow is OK..incadescant is from burnout temps.

When we dyno Rage2's 951 there is only a very dull glow from the sheet metal segments of the manifold and that is with a ceramic lined exhaust port that keeps the heat in the pipes.

WTF are YOU talking about? A cast manifold with that type of egt will still glow like that.
LOL, What did he rev that to? 12000rpm??:nut:

Yeah...thats what i was talking about.

In most cars...EGT's of 1200 and 1400 will start melting valves inside the combustion chamber.
A friend sent me a video of a Taraus SHO dyno, with an EGT gague inside, it was hitting 1700.

If i took a civic and made it that powerful, with that high EGT's...the manifold would still glow like hell.
so yeah...wtf are you talking about Dsm?

actually 1400F egt's is very low. most internals don't start to melt till 1650+F

You cannot pick an EGT temp and say this is good or this is bad, cam timing, ignition timing, a/f ratio and cams etc. all affect EGT Peak EGT,s do not occur at peak HP but at stoic. (Closed loop)
More efficient engines tend to have lower EGT's than higher.

i was talking about if you know the difference betewen the eclipse and evo motors (slap on a rear driveshaft???????)
so lets hear wtf you are talking about
