Posting this for a friend...

His 1998 Acura Integra Type R was stolen last night (Dec 9). He parked his car in the parking lot between the Chinese Cultural Centre and Eau Claire in Calgary.

Brief Description of the Car:
- Had Alberta license plate DAA-800 when the car was stolen, highly doubt it is on the car now
-Car is white with minor damage to the front left corner of the bumper and the front left signal light. As a result of the previous damage, the left rear signal indicator blinks twice as fast as normal.
-The car is completely stock
-Fitted with snow tires on 4 silver Honda steel rims.

This has already been reported to the cops and his insurance agent. If you guys spot any suspicious ITR fitting the description of the above, please call the cops immediately.

Thanks.

This is getting ridiculous! Two weeks ago someone tried to steal my BMW from the parkade at my condo building...

Stubborn German locks didn't let them in, but now they won't let me in either.....

I have my disabler turned on all the time now...

Good luck with the recovery of your car.

This is ridiculous indeed!

In a country where cars are so cheap, how can people keep stealing them! :(

More like making cars that are so easy to steal. You'd be surprised at how easy it is to steal older Hondas (before they integrated immobilizers into the ECU).

:werd: there are many occations where i had to break into my own car and get my keys

i also analysed HOW the theives started and stole my civic. the ignition assemby inside the steering column case is very easy to disassemble and start it up, with out any rewiring.

You don't even have to disassemble anything to start it up.

Honda's arent the only ones that are easy. Porsche and VW has the same problem.

Keep an eye out for a cheap B18C5, not the car... Sorry to say, but it's in pieces by now.

one of my "shady" friends told me step by step on how to steal an integra or civic in like 30 seconds :/ i think knowing this, one of the best ways to prevent theft would be to have a removable steeringwheel.

I just bought a theft recovery car and for the first two weeks I started it the same way the thieves stole it, using the back of the ignition.

I also accidentally figured out a great way to theft-proof your car when I blew the 40amp ignition relay. It's a bit of a hassel but if you take it out every time no one can steal your car-unless they carry relays.

98's don't come with immobilizers?

what about 97's?

sorry to be off-topic but how much do those usually cost?
