what are you talking about! The US does not only consist of California. Just to let you know, they do sell STI's in calgary, and even in places like montana who do receive sufficient snow.

Yes the EVO X will be released in Canada but that's not until 2007/2008.:( Good thing I'm patient.

Both cars can be had in Canada. As stated before, the Civic si's are coming, or should be here already. And as far as the Evo's go, some people got them in 2004. Apparently a handful of them were sold legally in Canada. If you were dying for one, I bet someone would sell you theirs at a ridiculous markup.

Have to put down about $500 to get put on the waiting list, pretty much also guaranteeing that you will pay MSRP for the car. It will be priced similar to the STI, I think 50-55.

Yea but you need to understand, the news that the evo is coming up here is pretty big, for us Canadians. I personally know 2 or 3 people who are already on the list for one.

Here's a sneak preview of the Evo X, this concept was shown at the Tokyo auto show a few months ago. If that's close to the production version, time to put a deposit in

Yeah I thought it would be around the 50-55 range .
Yeah I pretty sure it wouldnt look like the concept but you never know I guess.

wouldnt it be priced lower than the current STi? just like how it is in the states. 50-55 is a rediculous price since the STi is 49.

too bad they took out the 4gea or whatever that thing is called.

Gondi Stylez
12-14-2005, 08:08 PM
yea i would think it would be prices close to the US

and the EVO RS is 29 149, IX is 31 399 and MR is 36 299

so w/ conversion i would think b/w ~33 543-41771 or 35-MAX 45

:dunno: hmmm i am seriously condersing....

if u decide to withdraw do u get ur depost back in full?

So they probably won't keep the same design as the current evo's for the first year that they bring it to Canada? I'd love to see a couple of those driving around.

Yes, your deposit would only be to hold your spot in the refusal line.

I basically have first right of refusal on the first Evo that Platnum gets. If I say I don't want it because it is too expensive, too ugly or too underpowered, any reason at all, they have to give me my deposit back.

Unfortunately the current style Evo9 & previous Evo8 will never be registerable in Canada due to its front bumper/FMIC not meeting our safety standards. Mitsu will not remedy this issue just to sell Evos here due to our small market, it wouldn't be worth their while. That's the reason for the next EvoX, this "global platform" was designed to allow it to be sold anywhere in the world including Canada. This platform may be jointly developed along with the world engine in cooperation with DCX. It's rumoured DCX will name their version the Rebel. And sadly this will spell the end of the 4G63, as it will be retired to make way for this new family of global engines. :(

the MR should be more than the STi as the MR costs more in the states

Evo XIIIs and XIVs are illegal in Canada.

If you've seen them up here with Canadian plates, they're illegally imported, improperly registered and insurance would be void if they were ever crashed.

That's a big chance to take.

gp36912
12-15-2005, 09:06 PM
^^^ good point but i think u mean the evo VIII and IX :P the evo 8s and 9s, unless u mean the 3s and 4s if u take out the X but ya, the reason they can't get them into canada is that the front bumper isn't up to canadian safty standards or something, and the evo X is pretty darned ugly if i have anything to say about it :p i won't doubt that it will be a reallly really really quick car, but i really don't like what they did with the front of the car

i love the way the evo VIIs looked, but then i guess thats just my opinion and everyone else may see the car as good looking :P but hey like i said its my opinion, too bad mitsubishi thinks canada is too small of a market to do the design changes on the IX to make it legal to buy in canada
