wtb: xbox dvd drive

I'm looking for a xbox dvd drive.

I have one of the first gen, I think, made by Phillips. I'm not sure as I'm at work.

To be honest though it did have some problems reading certain DVD titles. For me it was Forza Motorsport. Reads CD titles fine and some DVD titles too. It would play Halo and Halo 2 most of the time without problems. You can have it for $10, I was just keeping it as a spare in case.

I got a thompson right now but not sure it the phillips is better. Is it?

Sorry Thompson, that's the one I have. It may not help improve yours.

for detailed instructions on how to clean and adjust the Potentiometer on a Thompson. I didn't try adjusting the Pot on mine cause I didn't want to risk breaking it unless I had a new one. I found a Samsung on eBay for i think it was $65 plus shipping. It's worked fine since.

It's up to you, your mileage will vary depending on how bad yours is and what game your using.:dunno:
