Ghost Rider release info and few pics...

December 15, 2005 - Variety reports that Sony has shifted the Marvel movie Ghost Rider from its original July 14, 2006, release date to Feb. 16, 2007. The new President's Day weekend slot is part of the studio's attempt to spread their slate over a wider period of time and to ease up the pressure on their revamping marketing department.



"I think everybody is looking at their release schedules in '06 and trying to avoid some of the traffic jams," Sony's Jeff Blake advised Variety. "Seven films for a summer is a lot."

The release date shift, however, impacts Marvel Entertainment, which "must now undo a carefully laid out plan of ancillary tie-in deals."

On the other hand, the February '07 slot gives Ghost Rider breathing room in-between fellow superhero pics Superman Returns (June 30, 2006) and Spider-Man 3 (May 2007).


As a huge marvel comics fan, Im looking forward to this one. Here are a few pics.

I don't think they should use big name actors/actresses for super heroes. It kinda spoils it. Tobey was good as Spiderman because back then he wasn't the "it" guy.
Then they cast Ben Affleck as DareDevil and he just ruined it completely. Halle Berry as Catwoman as well.

I much prefer the more natural lesser known actor than some megahit everyone already is familiar with.

Maybe it's the lighting but it looks like the bike in the flame pics above has 2 nostrils and the bike pic originally at the top has 1? :nut:

That's just how hollywood works. If a famous actor like Cage isn't involved, the project will probably never greenlighted.

Punisher, Ghost Rider, Dare Devil are 2nd string super heros. They don't have enough appeals to carry the movie with no name actors.

It actually not that ridiculous. Venom should technically be similar to Peter Parker, since he was half Eddie Brock (a reporter) and half Sin-Eater. I think it is a good call.

If you read the origins of Venom you would think so too.

I don't know. I think Cage was a good pick for Ghost Rider, he's had quite a few roles in action movies. I'm hoping it'll be a good movie cuz GR is killer and this movie better be rated R. Although I hope it doesn't turn out anything like Punihser, which was a huge dissapointment.

And yeah Eddie Brock is big and older than peter. if anything, topher grace should be carnage. a smaller, skinnier but yet even more insane than eddie brock.

and eddie brock isnt sin eater either, its Stan Carter :rolleyes: i also had a Vemon comic with sin-eater AND venom duking it out so its impossible.

just watched it and all i can say is Wow....

wow ... as in that is complete garbage. yay for the 8 second trailer which consists of 5 scenes.

Scene 1: here we have a close up of nicholas cage. executed his "I want to be emo, filled with teenage angst. see my furrowed brow, furrowed because im full of angst". in this scene as well, he babbles something about "Im the only one who can walk in both world" least thats what i can make of his rambling. Somebody needs to teach that man how to speak clearly. Pronounciation is key my friend.

Scene 2: This is where things... HEAT UP!!! It shows that the bike has fire on it... fire because you know... hes angsty ;) What good is angst without a lil fire?

Scene 3: Next, my personal favorite, are showing the rhinestones on his leather jacket (which makes him ever so hardcore) JUTTING OUT in an angry fashion. Adding to the "look at me, im a fucking bad ass" effect.

Scene 4 & 5: Now these 2 are where i wanted to puke. Ive been better CG in fucking video games. They even have the classic "punch the sceen too look insanly hardcore" ending to the trailer... cause you know... thats never been done before... it made me want to duck... Dont take my word for it though. Take a look at the pictures. The pictures dont even do it justice really... you need to watch the video for yourself. Its only 8 seconds long so it should be less than 1 meg to download.
