Where to buy used tires in Calgary or Alberta? I just need to buy 1 to replace a flat. Need one that' has equalivent wear as the other 3 that I have... ~50-60%.

There's a tire shop by the Chinook LRT station that I believe sells used tires. If you're coming off of Macleod, turn towards the station, cross the tracks, and turn left at the lights. It on that block on the right hand side.

Or just post your tire size and try your luck here.

Even the mainstream tire shops have some used tires for sale. Blaskin and Lane usually has a couple racks outside their stores and same with Kal Tire.

I think freakin is thinking about Big O Tires. I went there for a used tire once to use as a temp replacement one. It was only $40 installed or something like that.

Here's the situation: I got a flat tire last week and originally I was going to just replace that one tire. But now I'm told that because the other 3 tires have pretty low tread of them, I need to change all 4 of them. I'm looking for all season tires, probably set of 4 in 235/45/17.

I was in your situation up until 2 days ago. I called all tire shops in Calgary until I found 1 compatible tire at Blaskin & Lane. It was exactly the same size and had comparable wear to my car's other 3 tires. I paid a total of $50 for the tire including installation. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the advice! I called everywhere and ended up getting a used tire from togo tires. They're pretty good guys, fair price too.
Blaskin and Lane's pretty good too, but they were a little bit more $$$.
DON'T EVER GO TO POORBOY!!! The guy was just ridiciously rude!!! #1, it was expensive, #2, they wanted me to come into the store to check tread life, #3, when I asked them if the tires come with any warranty, buddy tells me it's a used tire so you're SOL. Then I told him that every other tire center offer 30 day warranty for used tire and he said "then go buy it from them!!!" and hung up the phone... Absolutely unbelieveably worst customer service ever, even for a tire store!!!
Anyways, hopefully these tires from togo are good, but if they're not, at least there's 30 day warranty on them!

Hi !

Its Thrus - July 17, went out at noonish to get a slow leak fixed on my Rover, I hit the Kal Tire at Chinook, it was gonna be a two hour wait. When down the road to Fountain Tire on MacLeoud Tr. and it was gonna be a 3 hour wait. So I went to Big O Tires a block over on Centre ....

They took me right in no problem, and they weren't even going to charge me for the fix!!

I just found these guys a few weeks ago when I went to get 4 good used tires for my Jeep and they put them on balanced, checked and everything for $250.00 this time it was just a slow leak on my Land Rover!

These guys Rock !!

Cheers'
Dave

I got a flat on the weekend that couldn't be repaired. The guy at Kal-Tire told me that because the tires I have on my car now are discontinued, I have to buy two tires that are the same across the axle otherwise the tread patterns will be different. To me this makes sense but I'm not sure of the effects if I buy either 1 brand new or throw on any winter tire of the same size (225/50/17). I'm trying to avoid having to spend 600 bucks for two new tires.

The tires I have now are blizzaks LM-22.
