so if i have a block i can throw a vtac head on it and it would work fine? im definitaly not a honda guy....

One quick thing Not mentioned: The small lobe is also for Emissions and fuel economy. Not just "low end torque."

Now that theres a visual people can see how an Engine without VTEC with a huge cam lobe running all the time can actually have as much power up high AND more on the bottom just like the mighty VTEC. Toda makes an excellent race-only cam called the VTEC KILLER I think. nice video :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Didn't Cadillac have a system like this in the early 80's? Called Dorthia or something.. Someone chime in on this..

it needs to be one of the select few non-vtec honda blocks that can have a vtec head installed w/o major overhaul.

1.5/1.6L D-sereis SOHC block
1.8L integra block (B18A/B18B)
2.0L crv block (B20z)
2.3L prelude block (H23)

those are most of the popular ones.
