storage insurance, why so much?

hey, i don't drive my car right now and i want to put storage insurance on it JUST IN CASE. i got a quote and for damn sakes i can't remember how much it was, but it was between $130-180 FOR 6 months. But when i was in b.c. it was $60 for 6 months.

so i'm just curious who you guys go thru, like which insurance company and how much you are paying! i can't really afford the apx $150 for 6 months right now because of school

Sounds like just comprehensive coverage. on a 98 prelude, $150/6 months doesn't sound that bad.

I pay $450/year for my 951, and $360/year for the golf for comprehensive coverage.

I'd phone around.. try the bigger bank insurance companies. (RBC, TD etc)

bah, i pay $350/month for PLPD and fire/theft for my 2 mustangs.

and paid nearly $400/month for my mr2 with the same coverage when i first got my lisence :(

i honestly don't know the difference between comprehensive and all that

who stores their car here for 6 months anyway, unless it's a showcar.

I just keep my regular insurance on it all year and that way at least when the weather is good, like the last two weeks, I can drive it without fucking around with insurance calls.

However that quote doesn't seem high at all for 6 months of storage insurance coverage.

how long hv you moved over to Alberta? probaby take few yr to get the same low rate as you got in BC .. but $60 sounds cheap! :eek:
