Just kinda wondering :) I'm talking pre-Hachi here ;) like KP61 Starlets, TE71/72 Corollas etc. Everyone's into Hachi's...(not that I wouldn't mind owning one..fuel injection is like a dream for me.. (I currently drive the 'rent's 80 Corolla or 86 Buick..both carbed..)

Love em...

TE27, TE72, RA21, RA40 and yes... KP61. ;)

I'll tell you one thing though... after owning 4 AE86's, 1 TE71 and many close dealings with friends old Toyota's, I'm doubtful I'll be buying anything like this again (at least anytime soon).

Definitely like the style, and they're good fun to drive... but the amount of work a 30 year old economy car often needs, is just ridiculous, not to mention how expensive odd ball parts are.

If your still driving your parents cars... i would pray and hope that when it comes time for you to buy your own car, you'll have enough money for something like FC or S13. ;)

But... maybe you really enjoy rebuilding and setting up DCOE carbs. I can't stand such things anymore.

For all local '86 lovers... because it does seem like there are a few here:

Local to Calgary (though visitors from all of Canada) 86 group. No initial D talk... Dori-kaze has been around for almost 7 years now.

DK has roots in TO. but has since evolved... it's leadership is now in Calgary.

The name suggest a drift club, but I don't think anyone there makes these claims. A few guys are really into drifting, and I know that a couple of them are damn good. I would say, get to know them and find out for yourself.

All of us are just into the cars, the aesthetics of them, the culture behind them. Many of us are big into auto-x, and running at the track, as well as the late night backroad.

Check it out... all of the guys are real friendly. It's been a good place to find used parts, deals on new parts. There's been no scamming, no stingy people asking 5k for beat down cars. It has managed to avoid what I would call the fashion victims and wannabe's of the AE86 scene. I'm proud to say I have friends there.

There's guys on DK that have tons of experience with 3tc builds...

Then again, there's also the random stuck up eliteist jackass, self righteous tool who feels that his opinion is all important.
It's rare though.

Not that I don't drive a AE86 something like that but had drove a '78 Celica GT hatchback years ago. Was lot of fun in that car, it's long gone sold. If I were to buy a toyota old school car ... it'd have to be a KE coded sport coupe from 1967-70 period.

I happen to know of one somewhere and have been drooling for some time!

This is what I'd want to find - a 1968-70 KE10/15 Toyota Sprinter sport coupe. Here's the link showing a picture from internet.

That's a nice vintage car! I can see it's a Celica - is it a GT? What year to this model? I seem to recall one article wrote on that model some years ago saying Toyota had "copied" a piece off a '71-73 Mustang body design. If you look at the Celica's rear end, you can see a close (almost) shape.
