All these photos and not one of his stylin platinum and diamond whistle tip? That has to be where all his mod money went right?

I agree with you....

I think that's a picture of an engine from a different car.
The battery location of the E320 is directly in front of the front Passenger and the engine looks nothing the E320 engine.

Check the pics of a E320 engine...

This engine looks like in is horizontal (look at the headers) while the E320 is a inline 6

Actually the E320 is a V6, not an inline-6. Close, but no cigar-O.

Cheers,

Peter

I think that might be a pic of the older 3.2L V6. The current 3 valve V6 looks a bit different. Either that or the E320's have a different engine cover. Here's how the V6 looks in my SLK 320:

My parents bought a E320 in 1996 and it came with a 3.2L inline 6.

"For power, the '96 car arrived with a carried-over 217-horsepower inline six-cylinder engine, mated to a four-speed automatic. Disc brakes were engineered all around, with standard anti-lock and traction control. On the safety theme, Mercedes has always equipped this generation of E-class with dual front and door-mounted airbags and an advanced safety cell protecting passengers."

That engine displayed, with the two banks (3-pistons each) is from an E320 that was produced in 1998 or newer. If you decided to read further into that article in which you quoted, you would have discovered that, and I quote: "...in 1998 all E320 models got a new 221-horsepower 3.2-litre V6 engine to replace the old inline six..."

Cheers,

Peter
