Looking at either the Canon 70-200 f/4 or the Sigma 70-200 f2.8

F2.8 is awesome!

Sigma is closer to the $1400 range after tax and filter.. Canon would be about $900 or so..

Ah! Bump for my old lens!

On some of the photography forums this is known as a sleeper lens; good quality for a low price that almost nobody knows about. This is the Mk.II version too with USM and metal mount, much superior than the Mk.I. Good build, fast and quiet focus, and great images. The semi-wide/semi-long range really makes this a suitable walkaround lens.

I've seen some photos taken with the new 24-105 f/4L IS and I can honestly say that lens doesn't really impress me. I've taken better photos with this lens than some of the ones I've seen with the 24-105L.

Some samples (of many) photos I've taken with this lens:

I was thinking about it... but then I will have to deal with the hassle of shipping it... I might be using it as a trade offer though.. waiting for a reply from the other end...

Still for sale regardless...
