Hey guys, my girlfiends 4runner recently started into clutch problems by the looks of things. Hardly able to get it into any gears. can force it through 2-5 but can't get it to take 1st. We haven't been in calgary for too long and haven't had the chance to find a place to get automotive work done at.

Was wondering if i could get some suggestions of a place to maybe get this check out at that you guys would recommend. Would just rather not get ripped paying out 800+ to replace the clutch if it the problem is something smaller that a shop could find.

clutch cable could just need adjusting - could be a leaky master/slave cylinder if its a hydraulic clutch. Or most fun: you could be experiencing crank walk (not very common in toyotas IIRC)

Seperate reservoir. Also could just be air in said system.

Any easy way of checking if it is this or a tutorial online or something. Really don't want to sink so much cash to replace clutch if it isn't it.

Well check the hydraulic master cylinder and it was low, really low. so i filled that sucker with dot3 and we pumped the clutch a bunch and it seems to be taking gears now which is sweet. Thanks for the help, still have to try and drive it about though. but i'm glad theres people out there to help.
