go to long and mcquaid (sp?) across from chinook mall. you can get great beginner guitars there for under $200 brand new. They got a decent yamaha for $175, or you can get an art & luthier (I bought one to play around campfires) for $190. The A&L is 100% Canadian made, and is comparable to $350 guitars that came up from the states.

^^ I have to agree with the above post. Go to Long and McQuade and pick up an Art & Lutherie. These guitars are great to learn on and can be around for awhile. If you want to spend more go with the Simon & Patrick - these guitars are awesome and can be grabbed at a good price as well.
