Wonder what this does to the fuel pump and injectors, all of which have significantly more critical tolerances than the fuel level gauge. :thumbsdow

Well, Shell had issues back in Winter 2001 with their gas. One of their additives clogged up the injetors in GM vehicles... my mothers SUV was affected. Shell paid for the repairs. There was a big thing in the news about it.

Since then, I've never bought gas at Shell.

Esso is the WAY! Shell sucks. I went to a shell for the first time in a couple years. My car was dead empty and I filled up. I got over 39 L...... Um..... my tank is only like 37L. 3 days later my friend with a 50L tank camry told me that he went to teh same gas station and squeezed in 54L.

BEWARE OF THE SHELL ON BOW TRAIL ACROSS THE STREET FROM WESTBROOK MALL. I think they are scamming. I would do somethign about it, but I'm really lazy, so I just won't go there anymore.

Gas stations don't buy gas from one set refinery anymore. When they buy gas, they buy from where ever its cheapest. So its quite possible for you to fill up at a Shell station which has purchased is gas from and Esso refinery. The additives that each company claims that they use is added to the gas when its pumped of the truck into the gas stations holding tanks (comes in a bottle which they just pour in). The only exception to this is Esso. Their gas stations are suppose to buy from the Esso distribution center.

I read somewhere (here on Beyond, perhaps) that Esso is dropping their premium 92 to down to 91. I might have to try Mohawk someday.

They all are. Truth betold it always was 91 just with a 92 sticker, they got called on it and now most places have changed the sticker. We pay so much for such shitty gas. On top of adding premix at the pump I will now be forced to add xylene as well:(
