Hey guys, I have a question.

I'm thinking of buying another car, but will probably keep my old one to give to my mom later. In the meantime though, I might need to drive both cars. Will I have to fully insure both of them in order to do so? Or can I be an "occasional driver" on one of them?
(I am the only driver)

Thanks, I will do that. I thought there might have been some universal policy for this kind of thing.

I have full coverage on my 04 SRT-4 and PL/PD on my 99 Neon. Costs me about $150 per month and I can drive whichever I want whenever I want.

Yeah for mine they charged me the full amount on my main vehicle then for my additional vehicles the premiums are about 1/3 the price for the 2nd vehicle and 1/4 of the price for the 3rd car.

Insurance will offer "small" discount on the second car .. and third car, if you are the only driver! .. but your forth car will be back to full price .. :(

App. $1500 for my first car, then $1100 for my second one ..

SO, you need to have insurance on both, when your mom take over your other car, then cut the insurance, and get your refund back ...

Don't take any chance, get insurance on all the cars you need to drive!

You can insure one as your commuting vehicle the the other for pleasure use.
