Rim Question?

Im lookin at getting some rims for an 88 crx. I dont know much about rims and I was wondering when buying rims should I have to worry about offset. Heres a dumn question, wtf is offset. Also should I have to worry about the width of the rim, with rubbing etc? If someone can answer these 2 questions that would be great..thanks guys..

PS...How much would it possibly cost to get powder coating done on a rim???
