What ghost or un-marked police vehicles have you seen?

What ghost (sorry if this the wrong term to use) or un-marked police vehicles have you seen?

Well to day I was waiting at an intersection on 162 Ave SW. And I saw 2 vehicles. One was a gold or beige GMC Safari van the other was a dark green Ford Excursion. I only noticed them when they flashed their lights and drove through a red light at the same intersection. At first I was WTF is wrong with the lights. Then it dawned on me.
And the other day I was driving to the deerfoot and saw the 4 door cab pickup, which has been discussed on beyond before.

I don't know about you, but it seemed like the cops were out in high numbers today.

They are getting sneaky, saw a sandy brown Ford Escape not too long ago. simple way to go about is to be weary of anything domestic with more than 2 doors and the little black sticker. or just obey the laws of the road.

The one I keep seeing is the Colorado.
It is probably one of the best disguised ones out there. It's a crew cab colorado with a headache rack and it's white. All the lights are pretty well hidden. Funny thing is down by the foothills hospital where they are doing that road work there is a truck that is identical but it is actually a Construction Company truck.

it was a photoradar van that had decals that said stuff like STOP or SLOW DOWN or something..

i think it was white.

first i thought it was some company van than i look again and its photo radar

Yah they did seem to be out in high numbers. The other night I couldn't find one, today I went driving for half an hour and I saw 8 not around the same area. Plus 2 more once I was in the NE, but that was because of me and they were there for me so yah that doesn't count as spotted.

There is a new one, "MARS" Blinds and Scaffolding or something like that. Purple caravan, tinted windows, with yellow and white lettering with those words on the side and rear windows.. pretty sneaky.

I've seen that truck in more than one construction zone, always seems to have someone pulled over, it looks like every other cnstruction vehicle.... Very sneaky

Was next to a red caravan lastnight comin down memorial into DT, i thought it was a multi nova van till i got next to it and didnt see the camara and there was a marked officer in it had the fleet plate sticker on it and the couple of lil antenna's on it.. Even the RCMP are gettin sneeky, on highway 2 between reddeer and calgary they are runnin a 2000+ white chevy extended cab 4x4.. looks like half of the work trucks that go flyin down that stretch, confused me when i saw it with lights goin with some sucker pulled over...

^ The detectives drive the Caravan's. They have the computer mounted between the front seats and sometimes they have a red light mounted on the dashboard. I see them parked infront of the police administrative building on 7th ave from the LRT everyday.

Sneakiest was a green intrepid.

I saw a lumina sitting on John laurier (sp?) sunday morning in the left turning lane right before the shag hill (there always there to get you over the hill).

First time I've seen a lumina there, usually theres bikes there so they are hidden better.

iv seen a white dodge stratus or what ever it is on the high way. with whinny the poo stuffed animals and all kinds of kids toys on the back dash and handing in the windows. and he had like whinny the poo stick up blinds used for little kids but he had them covering his police lights in the back window. so you could only see them if they were turned on. it was nuts!!

Yes there is a black H3 running around calgary, but mostly on deerfoot. A friend of mine has one of the swat members that lives beside him so the black excursion is a swat truck.

The popo was everywhere on 14th St. northbound this morning. I saw 3 people pulled over with unmarked vehicles, one was a beige SUV and the other 2 were ford sedans. There was an unmarked white truck on the median before the merge onto Glenmore with a speed camera.

I think the most unsuspicioud one i ever saw was a light blue ford focus. it was VERy undercover, it even had like a crappy paint job and was slightly dmged but when it pulled me and my friend over for no reason except they thought we were goign to go commit a homicide? :guns: because we were following each othe rot ge tmy car droppe doff at the body shop haha.

anyways the person that came out of the car musta been fromt he undercover crime unit cuz he wore a suit adnf showed his badge he wasn't wearing the regular CP uniform just him and his partner wore suits and had their badge hung on their neck.

Holy, seen a new one yesterday.. A dark mazda tribute, with a short set of lights on the top, that make it look like a ski rack or something when approaching it.. Once you get up to it, it's got stickers all over it, a blue POLICE sticker on the front bumper, some on the sides, a couple big mazda stickers on it as well.. I seen him down on center st. in the morning, then out by chinook in the afternoon. Def a sneaky one when approaching him..

sry but you are mistaken, alot of the undercover cars(ghost cars) are still running their stock wheels, with hubcaps on, ive even seen a new blue explorer parked on beddington trail near the offramp, that had 22inch chromers. its to catch the people that drive into the safety lane to get onto beddington blvd quicker. i didn't think it was a cop car until i drove by and saw the cop in uniform sitting there waiting. from the back it looked like someone was parked over to take a cell phone call etc.

There's this forest green suburban that used to follow me to and from the university, it was bizarre. I knew it was cops cause I could see their lights behind the grille.

The followed me for three weeks I have no idea why. Not every day but at least a couple of days a week. They would just show up behind me it was bizarre. I happened to notice them at a 4-way stop in my neighbourhood once and they had their windows down and there were 4 cops inside wearing full vests and everything, (tac team?). Kind of freaked me out.

And no I'm not a drug dealer or anything. :D

Newest ghost cars seen this month (sorry to bust your homies DayGlow)

- New White FJ Cruiser, lower portion factory black plastic, completely unmarked but built in radar with lights in front grill, seen in Foothills industrial area only so far, but I'm sure he makes his rounds.
- Silver 2009 Jeep Patriot, no lights on exterior, look for extra antenna's
- 2009/2010 Acura MDX, gunmetal/grey in color, no markings on outside except 2 lights beside the license plate, no lights in front grill they are hidden in the interior
- Ford **correction 500** Hybrid (got a picture of this sucker), light green, no lights on rear but lights in front grill
- 2008 Burgundy dodge charger, polished OE wheels, lights all over just the wheels throw you off
- 2008ish Burgundy Toyota Corolla, steelies w/ hub caps, no lights anywhere, look for the guy in a plad standard issue undercover jacket

I have some more too, just forget where I put the pictures and I forget the cars (that can't be good!!)

I swear on my life I saw a green Murano. I was stopped beside and I saw the lap top, the lights on the rearview and on the side mirrors and the cop was in uniform. I was never behind it so I never saw what was on the back or if there was anything odd about the rear seats (cage) but I'm 99% sure it was a ghost car.

My friend also claims to have seen an Altima pull over someone with full emergency lights.

Geeze you guys have a short list...

They've got a bunch of fullsize pickups, Chev 1500 and f150s; the colorados have been mentioned. The 'rusty' dodge minivan with the roof rack - have a good look sometime :) It's not rust - it's paint. They've actually got a couple of them.

They've got a couple cube vans one looks new, one is 'beat to sh*t' (at least it looks that way from a distance), the scary one is the enmax truck - perfect enmax boom truck, except they left off the enmax logo. See it semi-regularly up on 16th by the trailer park - usually the guy with the radar is up in the basket.

RCMP have a viper that tours through the outposts. Heard they have a porsche too - but haven't seen it.

The guys that service the red light cameras almost look like a private company. It is just a regular white econo van with "Red means stop" on the side with red and blue lights on their rear bumper.
