expandable battons?

Are expandable battons legal to carry in Alberta?

I know they aren't in Ontario and BC, but I found some reputable stores in Vancouver that sold them, not back room shady stores.

on 17th ave spy shop has them too.

im pretty sure they are illegal to carry

They are illegal period.

If you use them in a fight you can be charged with assault with a weapon.

Don't get caught. It's a concealed weapons charge, which will really fuck you up.

Why do the carry 'em? Are they in the 'hood? Gotta be the tough guys?

It's fucking stupid. Some guy carrying one around one day will pull it on a cop and he'll get shot. And he'll deserve it.

Why carry a weapon at all? It's not dangerous to walk around anywhere if you're halfway smart.

Some people are allowed (Certain people who work in security), but they are few and far between.

If they were legal, you would think you'd see them on all security guards and bouncers...

Yep, illegal. Got to stick with multipurpose objects like tire irons, golf clubs and bats (but don't forget a glove and a ball or it's just a weapon).
