Does anyone have a link to the goal by Alexander Ovechkin against the Coyotes? The one where he was falling down and was probably the goal of the year? I've been trying to find it on the internet and haven't had much luck.

Thanks.

wow nice goal...but it was kinda a fluke...goalie was way out and he still had his stick in his hand and stick on the puck he just gave it a little push

but pretty awesome how it went in even tho he was on the ground facing away from the net

Fluke maybe, but this kid is amazing, way better goal scorer than Crosby right now. He hits hard, skates hard and his shot is amazing. It is scary how good Ovechkin is so early on in his career.

in my opinion the calder is really between ovechkin and phaneuf  :goflames:

i wish that were true. The truth is that the calder cannot be won by phaneuf because of the talents that crosby and ovechkin are showing this year. although phaneuf is no doubt in the race, it really comes down to ovechkin and crosby and between those two, ovechkin is the clear winner so far and probably will end up winning it

The truth is the talent that Crosby and Ovechkin are showing this year is excellent, and while Phaneuf's is on par with them, he doesn't have the points to back him up. I am not bastardizing the play of either of the other 2, they're excellent, and I love watching them. But defence is usually a much harder position to learn, and Phaneuf just came in, and he's playing much better than anyone expected. Either way, if any one of the 3 wins the calder, I'm sure it will be well deserved. Even Marek Svatos is doing awesome...the amount of good rookies we have in the league this year, it's a shame there's only one Calder. I hope it goes to the best rookie fairly though.

Ovechkin has 7 points on Crosby, but counts for nearly 50% of his teams offence... Thats huge. Phanuef is without a doubt in the running, but with the class of rookies this year, he wont win. Any other year, he would be a no-brainer

^:werd: Thats the truth, sad but true.

Ovechkin is amazing, and wut is he 10 goals ahead of crosby, u have to no the NHL is gona try ad justify crosby at the rookie of the year cause they made such a big deal about how he is the next "Great One" but ovechkin is just unreal, and his goal the other night just proves it, u cansay fluke if u want but it shows he just has great puck awareness.

heh, that guy is pretty good, and yeah hes all by himself. hes won games single handedly for them. i think one of their last wins he scored the only 2 regulation goals and then scored the OT winner.

At this point in time there is no doubt that Ovechkin is further in development then Crosby. Then again it should come as no shock since he played with the real pros before his rookie season while Crosby was still in juniors. Ovechkin is also 2 years older which makes a great deal of difference when we are talking about players that young an age. I don't think the NHL is gonna justify anything. They don't have to. Ovechkins' skills speak for themselves. There shouldn't be much of a controversy if this was the final day for voting.

No it actually looks like Cujo attempted a play on that one cause he followed Ovechkin and the puck as Ovechkin went down. You can't expect a player like Ovechkin to just give up that easy when he's being pressured and I'm pretty sure Cujo knows this.

He just got BEAT bad by an amazing offensive player.....can't wait till Ovechkin aquires even more skill in the NHL!

+1 for Ovechkin being rookie of the year!

Very Very True. Give Sid the Kid another year or 2, and I bet he will challenge for points leader and goals leader.

Theres only 2 ways for Phanuef to win Calder:

1: Ovechkin get owned, out for at least a month of action

or

2: People start to value defense just as much as goal scoring

It looked like first he was expecting the shot when Ovechkin pulled it back the first time. But by the time he realized he wasn't shooting he was just out of position to do anything else.

Gotta at least give Boucher credit for staying in relatively good position (given where he was). He cut off most of the net, and Ovechkin just managed to squeak the puck through that tiny window he left open.

werd

he was caught going down wayyy to early, if he stayed with the play long enough it should've been a pretty easy save .. but who am i to criticize an nhl goalie.. lol

maliks goal was shoot out
and ovechkins was during game play
i think that makes ovechkins goal so much better than maliks
