The Description:
Up for sale is a 1993 model Audi S4 with a 2.2L turbocharged motor. I bought this beautiful car to have as the ultimate performance luxury vehicle to get me around in the winter. It has been quite incredible to drive so far and has done its job well, but the time has come where I need the money and it must go.

This S4 pulls very hard when boost hits. From the factory the high revving 20v 2.2L I5 makes 226hp@ 5900rpm and 260ft-lbs of torque at 1950rpm. It’s quite powerful as it is, but has a ton of potential using the stock bottom end. With an ECU, exhaust and a front mount intercooler alone this car will make 320+hp and over 390ft-lbs of torque. This car is a rare one to come by; you won’t see many of them being sold, yet there are still plenty of already produced bolt on mods to it readily available.

Right now this car needs very little to be perfect. I say it needs very little to be perfect because it isn’t right now. When I had originally purchased this car, I had bought it with what the previous owner described to be a “broken cable” in the sunroof. As I was originally planning on keeping the car, I told myself that I’d fix it come spring as I had no need to fix a non-leaking sunroof in winter. You can hear the motor trying to open and close the sunroof, unfortunately it only grabs one side and as such it doesn’t open properly and sits uneven. The other problem, which I simply haven’t had the time to get to, is that the drivers side heated seat, which no longer heats up! The element from Audi is around $200 and there are guides on the internet showing you how to replace it yourself should that be it (worse case scenario). Of course, come spring, I'd suggest mounting some 17s or 18s with the H&R lowering springs (below) as the 15" winter wheels and tires don't really do the car any justice!

You will notice that the price of this car is much lower than any other previously advertised C4 bodied S4 or S6 in Alberta. This is because I am hoping to sell this car quickly. A friend of mine just sold his C4 bodied Audi S4 for $11k with higher kilometers AND there is a green S4 in the Bargain Finder right now for $14k. I know the price is very good, so don’t pass this deal up!

The Price:
$9,700 FIRM

MiniMan
04-11-2006, 03:08 AM
Yes sir, this car is still for sale. Here is where the car stands right now:

Currently sitting on the shelf waiting to be installed is:
Audi A8L rotors ($280)
RS2 Caliper brackets ($210)
Hawk HPS Carbon Ferro pads ($220)
Stock S4 rear rotors ($120)
Stock S4 rear pads ($70)
Stock S4 rebuilt rear calipers ($195)
H&R Lowering Springs ($400)
Bilstein Sport Struts ($800)
Glass Moonroof ($450)
Audi TT HIDs ($400)
Custom designed brackets ($160)
Hella Euro Headlight Lenses ($200)

Just installed is:
Borbet TD 18x8" wheels ($700)
Pirelli Pzero Nero 235/40/18 rubber ($900)
Tint - 7 windows - not shown ($250)

That's over $5155 in parts! I would be willing to sell it as-is with the parts (uninstalled) for $12,900. If you'd be interested at that price, please e-mail me (your PM box is full):

are you willing to sell it without all those mods? Is the heated seat and sunroof still busted?

MiniMan
04-12-2006, 02:51 AM
Yes I am depending on the price offered. The glass sunroof is one of the parts which is not yet installed. No, the heated seat still does not work. Please PM, e-mail or call me for more information.

Thanks,

MiniMan
04-15-2006, 05:24 PM
Hey arirojas, thanks for the interest, but unfortunately I'm looking to free up some money. So I don't think I could trade up to your car.

Thanks Bart for the bump. It is actually a K24 and you can definitely say that these cars are limited production. Between 1992 and 1995, only 2400 of these cars were brought to North America. Out of that only around 250 were ever brought into Canada. Out of those, I'd guess there'd only be around 150 of them still on the road today! :)

$12,500 with the parts, un-installed?

Who would install these parts and how much?

MiniMan
04-15-2006, 09:54 PM
Correct, $12,500 OBO for the car with all of the parts listed. You could either install the parts yourself, have my mechanic install them or you could have your own mechanic install them.

How much would it cost to install everything?

MiniMan
04-16-2006, 03:30 PM
It depends on who does it. If my asking price is received I could do the HID install with a friend (we've already converted his old car).

Fitting lowering springs and shocks could be done by any skilled DIYer. Likewise with the brakes (they're all straight swaps - bolt on).

so is it $12,500 or $9,700?

Maintence records or was it all DIY maintence?

MiniMan
04-19-2006, 02:12 AM
The car is $12,500 with all the parts. It was $9700 without. I would prefer selling with all of the parts unless the price is right.

All of the maintenaince so far has been DIY. New battery, new voltage regulator, fuel filter, air filters, drains, etc. have all been done recently. All other fluids are A+. These cars are very easy to work on!

The HIDs may be mounted as soon as this weekend and an MTM Stage 1 chip is also on order. It will raise power output to 280hp and 328ft-lbs!

This is all to be included at the $12,500 asking price. :)

It's not an A4, it's an S4.... a fast/rare version of the Audi 100.
The A4 didn't come 'til '96... completely different car.

JFreddy, the older Audi's are incredible cars. Glad to see you've got the fever too! :)

Harry, I can definitely take some interior pictures for you if you'd like. The car isn't detailed right now, but you will be able to get the picture.

As well, the HIDs were just installed this last weekend. *WHEW* Man do they ever light up the road!!! What a change.

In any event, my mechanic charges $35/hr. I'm not sure what book rate is, but he'd probably charge by the amount of time it takes him.

Thanks!

Nice Ride, How do you feel about he cars handling?

Any other key points on preformance you could elaborate on?

MiniMan
06-10-2006, 02:46 PM
The car handles quite well, especially for being a 4 door luxury sedan! It feels really tight around corners and just as well going down roads with twisties. :)

The torque is also pretty nice to have, especially below 2000rpm. Makes for a great daily driver. It's not one of those cars that you need to get above 4500 to get a little punch.

But the highlight of this car's performance is that you can see through the BRAND NEW ($500) windshield like no other. Hehehe. ;)
