Ok I'm doing a marketing project in which i have to introduce a new product. I've chosen to introduce a beer infused barbecue sauce. In particular Big Rock Beer. They currently use beer infused barbecue sauce in their restaurant, but do not have it for sale. Part of the project requires I do some market research. So any help would be great.
After answering the poll it would be helpful if you could post your age and sex as well to get as accurate results as possible.
Thanks for any input! I'd really appreciate it.

Well I am a 21 year old Male who really loves his barbeque sauce, and his beer in small portions.

20/M , not really interested. If I want my steak to taste like beer, I'll marinate it myself.

Beer marination is the bomb, beer flavoured bbq sauce would kick it up another notch. :D

I'd try it, if I like it, I'd pay a premium over reg bbq sauce.

Male, 21

33, male. I enjoy steak in massive proportions, and I enjoy beer moderately. However, I have sampled a number a beer marinades and enjoyed most of them. This for me would be quite appealing...

A beer BBQ sauce would be alright. I would really have to sample it to determine whether or not I would purchase it on more than one occasion.

On a side note. Does anyone know how to make the steak sauce that the Sawmill in Edmonton makes? It's DAMN good!

23m, I wouldn't consider it. Beer is good, BBQ sauce is good, but u can't just combine two good things and expect it to be good.

I voted for "Yes I would like it and may buy it" but as the results were loading, I changed my mind.

I like beer, and I like BBQ sauce. But if BBQ sauce tasted like beer, then it would be pointless. I think I'd rather drink beer than put it in my food, but if I wanted my food to taste like beer, than I'd put in some beer, no point in putting in beer flavored BBQ sauce. When I have sauce, I want it to taste hot and spicy, not like beer. They are two different albeit good things. You cant have them both as one product and get the goodness of both. However you could pour BBQ sauce on a steak and then down it with a beer or put the beer on top of the sauce and get the goodness of both that way. Much more logical. So when you're looking at the results for this poll, mentally subtract 1 from "Yes I would like it and may buy it" and add one to know since I changed my mind. Or maybe a mod could do this instead?

Word. I already marinate Ham in Beer when cooking it in the oven, so a Hickory Smoked Cattle Boys w/ Beer would probably be pretty good.

27/M. Beer infused anything is so gimmicky. As most people would agree, beer is an acquired taste; to most people, the first taste of beer is revolting. I guess it all depends on what kind of beer you are intending on using. Guiness is a distinct tasting beer, and would work well with heavier meats. Fionn McCool's has a Stella infused sauce for their mussells, and it tastes like the chef poured the remnants of last night's beer bucket into his sauce.

Big Rock does produce some high quality flavourful beer, but a lot of the success hinges on which class of beer you intend on using.

To be honest, I would much rather prefer a rougher wine for a BBQ sauce than beer, but I can't forsee myself being addicted to anything less than a perfect recipe.

Hope that helps.

I think it might provide an interesting twist to your typical burger.

I wouldn't use it on a steak, but I'd be looking towards using it on burgers. I probably wouldn't buy it without trying it first.

20/M I'm a beer marinator, I'd marinate with beer, AND that sauce, put some sauce on it after, would probably be pretty damn good.
