Please help me to decide which car should I get..

01' BMW 330CI with only 45000KM

or

03' 350Z with 60000KM

I love 350z so much but I don't think it's a good daily car...The suspension for 03' Z is kind of stiff for me..

but the BMW mainteance fee might cost me a lot ...

Any opinions will help...

thanks

i would for sure go with the 01 330ci, lower kilometers and would be a better daily driver than a 350 i think

Im pretty sure the bill for maintenance on a 350z is gonna be the same as a BMW would cost you.

01' BMW 330CI with only 45000KM

I would generally say go with the model with fewer kms, however, the BMW is 2 years older and that line has been replaced, where as the 350z is still being made in the same form...

What is the price of the cars?

330. Definately the premier 3 series vehicle.

Id take the build quality of a BMW over a Nissan regardless the year

Why not a IS350? :D

oo thats hard. 350z are really nice and they get people to turn their heads. but against a bmw, on of the sexiest engineered cars...i would go for the bmw.

330ci

My opinion is obviously biased... +1 for 330ci. I also took a look at the 350z a while back. The problem for me was that they actually needed to include instructions on how to fit 2 sets of golf clubs in the back. Not much room back there... Fun car, but not as practical as the 330ci.

As far as maintenance goes, I have spent far less on my bimmer than I have on my GF's Rav4, and we got her Rav new in 2000.

edit: There was a factory recall for some suspension components. BMW replaced a bunch of stuff for me a while back. I don't recall exactly what the issue actually was, but they did it for me when I brought my car in for regular maintenance.

I'd also say the BMW, really its not lacking enormusly compared to the 350 and you get a way better ride and way better drivability. BMW all he way

350 if you have a small family

330 for practicality

pinoyhero
01-28-2006, 10:58 AM
Wow, pretty even. This one is a personal prefence for me for sure. I'm biased for sure since I have a 350z, but have owned an E46 before. Everyone's comments here are pretty much correct though. Here's a summary of my pros for each

350z
-faster, funner, sexier
-way cheaper maintenace for sure
-model not yet replaced like the e46
-more upgrade options
-high kms for the year

BMW
-higher overall quality
-far more practical
-low kms for the year

If they were both about the same price I would pick the 330.

what are the prices of the vehicles?

red2000
01-28-2006, 12:31 PM
Well...the price for both cars is around $32000
and I do have another car for roadtrip...so the seats or trunk room is not a big problem for me..

Both cars don't have any warranty remain....so I am worry about the maintenance...

and that's right......the BMW is 2 years older and that line has been replaced, where as the 350z is still being made in the same form...

Which one will have a better market value after 2 years...because i believe I will be bored with both cars after 2 years....

Bimmer!!! 330's are too :bigpimp:
Also, like you said, bimmer is 2 years older yet still has less kilometers.
And that line has been stopped, therefore most of the major problems and kinks have been worked out, whereas the 350 is still fairly new being only a couple of years old, and there still may be some headaches later on in the car's life

pinoyhero

Hmm, market value is a tough one, historically BMWs hoold their value like crazy but now that the e46 is an old model it may take a real big hit right off the top. 32,000 is way to much to pay for a 350z with that many kms, IMO. For example if I were to sell mine right now, which is in great shape, no winter drives ect. and 32,000kms i would be looking for about that much.

if anyone is selling their 330ci...please let me know...
"Automatic" is fine for me..

E46

Looked into G35c? Prefer those over the 350z's as well.

And to the dude who said aftermarket support, both the 350z and E46 have huge aftermarket support so that is not the issue at hand.

now i have a problem...I jsut found that the BMW was a "lease return"..and it's from B.C...that's why the km is low...Do you guys think I should find another one ? but it's so hard to find a 01' with such low km..

Lease return just means that soemoen leased it and now its returned. Most likely some mom or old man who wants to change up his cars so he doesnt have to replace them all the time.

I would still take it. Mines a California Car that came to BC then to AB. Jus tbaout no rust spots, higher milage but the thing is in amazing shape for an 89.
