ovechkin is easlily the top rookie in the nhl...crosby can not even come close

Crosby had too much pressure put on him when he entered the league and I agree Ovechkin is the best rookie this year for sure. Crosby is still pretty good for being a first year, but he lacks discipline and needs a few years. Look at Spezza a few years ago, he had huge hopes too and was a huge disapointment until this year when management got shifted in Ottawa.. Crosby will come around, but Ovechkin is untouchable this year

another reminder, Ovechkin spent 2 years playing on a Russian Super Elite team, basically Pros, men, not a little junior team. Crosby is 18, not 20 like ovechkin, and this is his first year playing with pros, and hes still gonna top 70+ points, that pretty damn good. Give him another season with pros, and he'll light it up like ovechkin

Yeah, Ovechkin def. has more exp. and Crosby is doing awesome for 18.. Just needs to stay out of the box and realize he is gonna be the biggest target on the ice for teams. He gets frustrated too easily and retaliates all the time taking stupid PIM..

Ovechkin > The Crosby Show.

I never like the crosb.

Ovechkin is the one man team.

Crosby is good but Ovechkin is just deadly. He has more highlight reel goals in the first 50 games than some players have in their careers. It's not even fair.

That was incredible this guy is amazing. I agree with what most ppl said here, but Crosby will be a force to reckon with very soon.
It's not the same situation with him as it was with Spezza though. Spezza came in and didn't have a great rookie season because he didn't get much ice time. The Sens brought him along very slowly because they already had tons of firepower. Obviously not the case with the Pens, where they are pushing for him to be a leader already (A on his shoulder). It's a lot tougher for kids like him and Fleury, although the same is happening to Ovechkin in Washington.

that wasnt a bad vid at all

i like how he leaves the puck for a minute and come back to it, good play for the opposition to think what hes not doing.. :nut:

ROY- OVechkin---goal scorer, and hits like phaneuf
2nd-Phaneuf -- best rookie defence, and he logs most minutes of any rookie! and has been pivotal to Flames success.
3rd-crosby--sorry son, maybe next year you could be the most improved player?
4th- Svatos--dynamo player, great skill
5- Lunqdvist(sp)--surprise goalie.

That video was great! it was like watching jagr, gretzky, jari curri(sp) mixtape or something! great stuff.

i think it'll probably finish ovechkin, crosby, phaneuf. as of today crosby is only 4 points back of ovechkin, so it's not like he hasnt been impressive in his own regard. but ovechkin is a far more solid all around player.

30 assists on a team where the next highest scorer has 12 goals, and he's a hog? Please. Ovechkin has a filthy release on his shot, and if he passed more his team would be doing even worse. Why should he pass more when he's a MUCH better shooter than a passer and has nobody to pass to?

So, anybody here think Evgeni Malkin will be a better overall player than Ovechkin?

I dont. Ovechkin > Malking. That being said, I can not wait for Crosby and Malking to play for the penguins together
