Its worth the buy if you own any of the previous socoms.
The only shitty part is you need a credit card to verify your account to play online.

why do you say "if you own any of the previous socoms"? just because you'd be used to the gameplay or is there another reason?

Well it isn't the easiest game to just pick up a controller and play. Personally if you like war games that are realistic this is a game for you. Just go rent it and try it online, you will be able to play online with out a cc for a while.
