at golds gym its a 99 dollar membership fee for a 2 year contract and you only pay like 12.99 plus tax bi-weekly right now if you join right now...I believe if you pay upfront for the 2 years..its around a one time payment of $699 right now.

the new golds gym is gonna be opening sometime in march and its gonna be great...but a very competitive place since all the big guys goes there.

so +3 for golds...but imo world health club is a great gym as well.

It was pretty expensive when I signed up. I end up paying around 830 a year. I don't know how people got such killer deals. The guy that signed me up didn't cut me any deals at all

i find world health club a very reasonable price

i remember back then it was around 50-55 dollars a month..and for that price...its definitely worth it if you go at least a few times a week

you can't put a price on trying to keep yourself healthy and fit...especially if you really need to lose weight

40bones/month for me at sunridge. I don't think they will take your money upfront ... I think they take it from everybody monthly. But if you sign up for 2 years, you can lock in your rate or something (I sound like I'm talking about interest rates!)

The new facility is alright and has pretty much everything you'll need. Parking is good too.

But I agree 2.4L ... go to Gold's that way I can fight him for the good bench. Wait which is the good bench? The one where you can see the ladies do the leg machines? Ha ha.

WCH you can pay upfront. If you just want the one location its $44 a month. You can upgrade so you can use all locations except the bay and edgemont and pay $54 a month. They swing deals all the time. If you pay upfront im sure they will waive the processing fee. I like it there cuz its dead during hte day, and the same people all the time. Comfortable atmosphere and not to big. And a wicked Juice bar...

I work for WHC...standard club access (North Hill, Sunridge, Macleod, Richmond, Southport) is $49 plus GST...if you want just ONE of the clubs mentioned it is $45 plus GST. A 2 year prepaid only around $799 including initiation I think.

If you want all the standard clubs and Edgemont it is $59 plus GST...or JUST Edgemont it is $55 plus GST.

All clubs including the Bay downtown club is $65 plus GST. The Bay and Sport Club (Edgemont) have free towel service, hot tub, steam room etc...

Squash and/or tennis at Edgemont is additional or you can pay a drop-in.

If you have a family member who is a member at any WHC then you can get $10 taken off your dues when you enroll.

There is an initiation and a processing fee of $35. The processing fee is mandatory and can now never be waived thanks to new rules from Head Office. The initiation varies and if the sales person is crafty enough can drop it some.

The best advantage to WHC is the fact there are a lot and if you happen to move the you are likely covered since they are spread out through the city.
