No actually malamutes are VERY good with children. Which is actually why I picked this breed. He's very gentle and affectionate with her. She bites his ears or pinches his nose with her nails and he just licks her or lets her cuddle with him.

And who would that be??

Haven't really had much chance to shoot with it yet... But the test shots are looking SHARP as a tack (however lost some quality with the resize for hosting).. Hopefully be able to get out with it soon and get some "real" shots taken with it.. :)

hi folks, the post your latest picture thread used to be my favourite thread on beyond but of late it's taking unbearably long to load. tonight, it took almost 2 minutes!

can i just suggest the following to make this place a little easier for everyone?

1) watch you image size. limit images to no more than 100-200k so it doesn't take 50 seconds to load- especially if you have a shitty ISP like me. even at 200k, 10 images is 2MB. do the math and count the number of images in this thread. put jpeg compression to good use.

2) be selective and keep your posts to no more than 3-4 of your favourite images so you don't dominate the thread. if you have more images, provide a link to the rest in a gallery like flickr.

above all, keep the photography discussions and critiques flowing!

How do you guys deal with Photobucket resizing your pics? Do you find that you lose some of the detail and clarity? For these pics I tried to resize them myself and reapply some minor focus, but now it looks overdone.

I don't want to start a new thread on this, so I'll just ask here.

Does anyone know where I can get blocks of replacement diced foam? The kind of foam you get in hardshell camera cases? I can't even seem to find it on Ebay. I'm currently working on a low-budget DIY heavy-duty camera case project, and all I'm missing is the protective foam.

I know Vistek sells replacement Pick 'n' Pluck foam for their Pelican cases, but it's very expensive and they don't list dimensions. I need 2 blocks at least 12" long X 8"wide x 3"deep.

turboMiata
02-22-2006, 04:24 PM
how much did vistek want for theirs? i'm looking for some too.

BerserkerCatSplat
02-22-2006, 04:43 PM
If you're replacing foam from an existing case, the manufacturer generally has replacement foam. The approximate Pelican size I wanted was the 1400 model, and they want $45.00 for the foam. The best way to match foam is to sort cases by size on the Pelican website and match the foam size. To get the foam number, just add 1 to the Pelican case number. (eg 1400 case has 1401 foam)

However, BH carries that same foam for $13.65US, so I may just get it from there instead. I'd much prefer to buy locally, and someone that sells it in precut blocks would be ideal - but if the price is right, I'll get it from BH.

What size of foam are you looking for in particular?

If you're planning on making an order with B&H, let me know and we can split the shipping. I have a thing or two I'd like to order from there, but they're so minor it's almost pointless after shipping costs just on its own.
