Phat Bikes has a race non profit association called the PBRA and they are putting together track time on the Calgary Kart Track. There is already a core group of about 20 riders!! It's going to be a blast! Cheapest form of racing period...and trust me, they may look funny to ride but it is the most fun you will ever have. Some of the bikes are now reaching speeds of 100km/h so it is a lot like the Karts just on a bike! We would like to see more people join to keep the track time cost lower for everyone. If you are interested check on there forum.:thumbsup: phatbikes.ca

Can you race a 75cc pocket bike?
kingding

Are you refering to a super pocket bike 4 stroke?
If so, we have a member with a 70cc X12 with some mods and he will be bringing it.:)

That is a GRC 14HP. Very hard to find here!! The replica of it is a Banshee H20. Very nice bike and fast! Bit smaller than the other bikes posted above and not as fast out of the hole:)

he probably means like a daily type of thing or weekly where you go to race or to have fun. kindof like the beyond meets or compact challenges(or other car challenges)
Plus they are harder to have because they are illegal on the street.
but i still have one...and there fun.:burnout:

We are getting all the insurance in place and then we will be having scheduled track days. We are going to start with a few test/tune days. These days will be all about meeting the other riders and just having fun. Once the interest is high enough, if that is what the riders want, we will schedule in some race events. We will need racing insurance, volunteers for officials and dedicated racers for these days. We are also talking with other Minimoto groups in Manitoba, Ontario, Edmonton and BC to schedule events as well. One event is going to take place on the Saskatoon track that I pasted above.
It's going to be a blast!!

Guys this is what it is all about!! You do not want to miss being a part of this season. And oh yah......did I mention,
The AMRA now has their own TRACK
[smilie=pdt_nzd.gif]
It is located 30min west of Leduc. This does not mean that we (I say we as a proud member) will not still be using the Calgary and Edmonton tracks but that means that we now have our own track to ride as well [smilie=drogar-biggrin(lbg).gif]
Also I am very excited to say that Phat Bikes is going to be the proud sponsor of the Pocket Bike Class [smilie=pdt_velo.gif] [smilie=podium.gif]
So what does all this mean....
-more riding then you can handle at every event
-you must be a AMRA member to participate in the test/tune days (out of province guys may be an exception)
-appropriate gear (must have back protector)
If you have any doubts as to how good this is going to be, join us at;
THE AMRA IS SET TO HOST OUR 5TH ANNUAL AMRA/CMRA DAYTONA 200 PARTY AT THE RUSTY CAGE BAR & GRILL SATURDAY MARCH 11/2006 DOORS OPEN AT 10:30 AM RACING STARTS AT 11:30 AM SHARP. 1690 37TH STREET SW. CALGARY GREAT DOOR PRIZES AND OUR FAMOUS 50-50 DRAW (KIDS WELCOME)
Bikes are welcome!! Mine will be having a beer with me [smilie=occasion14.gif]
Bring your check book and you can pay for everything that day. The costs will be, if you pay before March 15th
$60 x 8 events
$75 AMRA Membership
$60/yr for CMA membership
Total for the whole year of racing/riding $615 (about $6/hour!!!)
Also a post dated check for $160 that you get back if you do volunteering , bring volunteers or get a sponsor.
You don't have to pay for the events if you only want to do the test/tune days but guaranteed you will want to race after a test/tune day!
After March 15th it is $75/event, better to sign up now!!
P.S. we have a new PB rider....Grumpy Gus is all over it!! He's just a small guy and will fit the bikes perfectly [smilie=drogar-blackeye(lbg).gif]

I am extremely happy to say that we easily have at least ten riders signed up to race in the AMRA's Phat Bike sponsored Pocket Bike Class [smilie=pdt_leb.gif]
I am also very excited to announce that Phat Bikes will be providing the prize for the pocket bike class point leader at the end of the season......A BRAND NEW POLINI 911 LIQUID COOLED REPLICA
http://www.phatbikes.ca/picts/lc1.jpg
I think this should only include the points totalled from the 8 Calgary races to make it fair for all.
