Looking into buying a 96 ek hatch. Has anyone ever tucked 18's on one of those? how did it look? and how low can i go without rubbing? Also if they do rub, does anyone roll fenders professionally?

i had 18's on my eg. WORST thing i have ever done. The ride was loud and rough! I had to slow down to a crawl to get over train tracks. You feel every bump, oh yea, and they look will like ASS. It was with 35 rubber too. 16's look sexy, 17's look sexy but are the biggest you should ever go on a civic.

i think CIVIC_MAN is right..16 and 17 is the most i would go...i've seen hatchbacks and they definitely don't look right with 18's...bigger the car..bigger the rims...you got a small car so i suggest stick with 16 or 17 at max.

so does anyone have pictures of ariff's ek with 18's? im really curious to see how it looks, even though they have gotten a generally negative response

Please don't get larger than 17s on a 96-00 civic. Hell I won't even go larger than 16".

are you sure, I though i heard someone say they were 18's, ne ways the blue ek that just sold (from speedtech i believe) had 17's and it wasnt too bad at all, so 1 more inch cant be all that bad:dunno:

yeah that car is hideous, but it does have 19's. I think 18's with less of a drop would be fine

The only Civic that pulled off 19's nicely is MIWYFSHOT's old SIR.

Other than that...17's MAX.

EVeryone on here keeps saying 18's are damn ugly on 96-00 Civic HB's. Your not listening..stop with your assumption that one extra inch wouldn't be so bad..it just doesn't look good..just sell your rims and get some 15's to 17's..much more:bigpimp: . Not a single person on here has said 18's look good on civics...

Keep in mind that the bigger the rim diameter, the smaller your brakes appear to be.

Anything bigger than 16" on an EK is wrong

Ideally, if you want a "bigger wheel" for an EK, 17's would do the trick.

well mark from the looks of it you'll have to downsize. or get a better car :angel:

I have 17's NOT 18's for the summer...but JDMAE86 had 19's on his when he was running the EL Civic-o conversion like 10 years ago...haha...

16-17 would be your max...but it's all you...

Seanith

Only a legend like JDMAE86 can pull that shit off.

My buddy has 18's on his 88 Civic, i think they look absolutely awesome; much better than his 15's he had before.

^Gotta admit that looks pretty good for 18's. But i think 16's or 17's would make it look even better. At the same time, you have to have the right style of rim to pull off 18's on it. I actually think the car looks really clean with the 15's too.

A friend of mine told me he had his fenders rolled for his camaro at Tunerworks. I don't know if this is true though as someone from tunerworks has posted in this thread with no mention of it. You could always give them a try, if they don't do it they will more than likely be able to point you in the right direction.

ive put 18's on lots of hondas i think its perfect, 16's 17's too small they dont fill up the fender, looks too stock, if your spening the money why would you get wheels almost the size of your stock ones:dunno:

i guess it depends on the style you want, if you want a JDM look go 16's if you want a show look that people will notice go 18's

just my opinion

If you get 18's and dont have a body kit then it's going to look like a 4x4 unless you slam it. If you slam it then it's most likely going to rub. I think 17's would be fine though, but I personally wouldn't go any bigger.

15" = +1" over stock
16" = +2" over stock
17" = +3" over stock
18" = TOO MUCH

hmm well, my stock rims were 14" and my +4s look just fine. In fact, I wish I got 19s. Comparing your new rims to your stock ones is definitely not a good way to decide what will look good.

17s are the most i would go. but i think 16s look best imo. big rims=rough ride.
