Im with cooperators and their prices are rather high because they are high risk insurers...

Those prices dont seem to bad, full insurance kinda pricy.

On my 01 lude they are charging 1600/yr full coverage but it may just be that cheap cuz its a 2nd car.

try AMA
i found the cooperator quote for my car to be almost 800/yr vs my AMA. that's for full coverage.

Those rates seem a little steep. Do you have a clean driving record?

I'm with Cooperators, and Im paying 120 a month for full coverage with a $250 deductable, and this is my first car and I'm 20.

They have been great to deal with. When I got a tone of hail damage on my car, they decided to go with paintless dent repair (The Dent Clinic), and since it was a cheeper option, they paid my deductable.

Screw cooperators. Go with TD, Royal Bank for the best rates IMHO. Royal Bank is charging me $760/year for PLPD on my '92 4x4. Cooperators wanted to charge me $1600+/year on the same truck for PLPD. :thumbsdow to cooperators and their shitty rates.

Yes, they suck.

royal bank? weird

hmmm well i DO have a clean driving record in BC and I was getting a 25% discount..but now i moved to alberta and the fags won't carry my discount over. so i'm starting at square one again with a clean driving record

im with the cooperators and theyre actually really great and helpful. they do everything for me including calling to find out information about anything...im only payin 140/month and im 17.

i would do it, plus they are a well known company meaning they cant really hide when theres a big problem, i know some insurance companies that will try to get out of it.

When I had my first vehicle I was with them, and then one month I was $15 short on my creditcard auto monthly withdrawl. They didn't call me to tell me, they just cancelled me and I wasn't even made aware until I got a letter, a week AFTER my insurance was cancelled. Good thing I didn't get into an accident. When I realized the mistake I went to straighten it out and they wouldn't reinsure me and I had to go to another company - all over $15.

Of course that was a looong time ago, and I can't really see that happening now, but since we're telling stories I might as well add mine. :)

I am through the cooperators here in medicine hat. Besides not returning some of my phone calls i cannot complain at all. They have answered all my questions regarding insuring modified cars with no problem at all. It also helps that the owner's (Skogen insurance - the cooperator) daughter has been in my class for 7 years.

I haven't read the full thread, but I have dealt with them. It seems for an older car <10+ yrs old> they seem to be cheaper then others, but for newer cars their rates aren't very good.
