Does it matter what kidn of metal teh pipe is made of?

Youll want to use aluminum piping it retains more heat than stee. You can buy piping from mopac or you can buy a cheap ebay intake kit that matches the piping youll need. Ive heard the dc2 intakes come close. Alberta plating does chrome.

Look up bumper repair shops in the yellow pages. There are 2 or 3 places in Calgary that can chrome things.
Alberta plating is one of them, and I've heard good things about them.
