hey guys,

ive got a problem with my sound system in my 91 celica gts.

ive noticed whenever the car is cold, the speakers hardly work, their sound is like %50 loud, of what its suppose to be. and even on some days when its EXTREAMLY COLD (anything under -15c) when i turn the speakers all the way to the max, the sound is only like 10% of what their suppose to be. ive also noticed that the left speakers are more louder then the right speakers, whats causing this?

note: everything is stock still.

The cold affects conductivity, combine that with old stock wiring and you've got a problem, albeit a minor one. Aside from rewiring your stereo and putting in new components, you could also try checking for loose connections.

The lower the temperature, the lower the resistance of the wire, an a greater resultant current.

i always thought it was the speakers themselves, not the wiring.

think a place like futureshop/bestbuy can do the rewiring? cuz im planning to pick up a deck/amp/speakers in the summer from there, i might as well get them to do it for me while their at it (if they can)
