My friend in U.S has a 2003 car with a rebuilt title. It was a theft recovery(the lights, seats, doors, trunk) were stolen.
if I buy it ..can i insure it in alberta / calgary?

Yes you can, but you will always have a rebuilt title and it'll never be worth as much as a clear title vehicle.

I don't know, but you should offer a LOT less than what they are really worth normally. No one likes to buy a car with rebuilt status title.

And also cars in the states are a lot cheaper, especially with bimmers.
check out e46fanatics.com for more specific e46 questions.
A car worth, say, 20K USD is worth 35USD here.
For that car I would offer 20k USD, as they go for about 40ish for that condition of car.
For selling here that title will be negatory for buyers, would you buy a "stolen" car? what else has been done to it? who knows... really...

My mistake it is not a "rebuilt" title, it will be an "altered" title because of the theft...
ya....even it's cheap...maybe I can't sell it in the future...:thumbsdow
