how hard is it to switch a car from auto to manual and is it easy by yourself and if done at a shop anyone know the cost

outside of how easy it is when i see a garage do it, i've been observing my friend doing his on his 200sx . it's just as imagined and very easy . the car will have the mounting holes for the hardware . just buy it and put it in. depending on how much interaction the ECU or Shift computer has with the transmission, u might need a new ecu or a flash/chip.

403Gemini is correct, I did it with my previous car (2000 Lude). Everything was straight forward. The only PITA part was running the clutch line and drilling out for the master cylinder......Mine didn't have the cutout.

As for shop costs, labour alone ~$1500 ballpark.....depending on the vehicle. I got mine done by a couple of good friends :thumbsup:
