*** I originally posted this in society/politics by mistake, anyways mods please close that thread ***

Ok so i purchased a large ticket item from the U.S last friday, and the seller gave me a tracking number that shows the following when i go to www.fedex.com/tracking

Package data transmitted to FedEx

Glendale, AZ

The estimated time is the 15th, however does that message even mean that the package has been picked up at all?!

it has now had that message for approx 6 days.

and another question, you people that use fedex to ship goods, do you pay for shipping first and send them tracking data - and THEN Fedex comes and picks it up? OR do you transmit data about the package and pay after?

I just want to make sure that the seller has actually given the package to fedex. Thanks in advance.

If you use the Web fedex or UPS service, you get a tracking # right away even before the package is picked up or dropped off. The guy just prints a sticker out from the site and slaps it on the box. So it's entirely possible that it's still with him and not fedex.

you guys are completely right on this, anyways I just e-mailed the seller and he e-mailed back saying that the tracking number he first gave me didn't have all info for an intl order. He gave me a new tracking number, and this other one has gone through a bunch of cities and is in transit as we speak! :)
