sonic drilling?

anyone know anything about sonic drilling? how it works and whats so great about it?.

Basically it is used in very soft formations or fractured formations to gather continuous samples.
Also it is an extremly fast method of drilling with little secondary waste.
However this method of drilling is very expensive, limited to soft/factured structures, creates problems with logging. In some cases water or air is used as the fluid which are considered poor fluids to use.
